Recommended file formats

Vector filesAI, PDF, SVG or EPS are preferred for logos, text and clean print edges.
Image filesPNG, JPG or PSD can work when resolution is high enough for the print size.
Packaging filesUse dielines when available. Keep important text away from trim and fold lines.
Reference filesMockups are useful, but production files should be provided separately when possible.

Artwork checklist

  • Use vector artwork for logos whenever possible
  • Provide transparent background files when needed
  • Confirm print size, placement and orientation
  • Outline fonts or include font information
  • Prepare separate files for product print and packaging print

Important notes

Avoid common artwork problems.

Custom printing can vary by material, surface, ink, print method and lighting. A sample is recommended when color accuracy or presentation is important.

Resolution

Low-resolution images may look blurry when enlarged. Send the highest quality original file available.

Color

Screen colors and printed colors can differ. Physical samples help confirm expectations for important orders.

Placement

Artwork placement should be confirmed with product dimensions and print-area limits before production.

Fonts

Outlined fonts prevent missing-font issues and help keep text consistent during proofing.

Bleed and safe area

Packaging and labels may need bleed, trim area and safe area to avoid cutting important details.

Proof approval

Production should start only after artwork, placement and key details are confirmed.
